Pastoral Counseling / Step 5

The clergy at St. Stephen’s offer short-term pastoral counseling. Deacon Charmaine is available for Step 5 sessions.

People often book an appointment with the clergy to talk about developments in their personal lives; to get perspective when they’re facing a major crossroads; to ask deep questions about their own religious and ethical beliefs; or to receive grief support following a loss.

Our clergy are trained to offer spiritual care and will help you find a therapist if you seek or need regular psychological support. We generally refer to Calgary Counselling Centre, Skipping Stone or Dragonfly Psychological Services (a group of therapists that currently occupies the rectory of the church).

Clergy can also connect you to a spiritual director if you desire long-term spiritual accompaniment.

As a church that welcomes people of all gender expressions and sexual orientations, we are especially pleased to offer spiritual support to 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and their families.
