Music Director: Krystian Sekowski

Krystian Sekowski is a Polish-Canadian pianist, organist, and conductor who brings both deep musicianship and a heartfelt love for sacred music. He completed his studies in piano performance and conducting at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where he trained under some of Poland’s most respected musicians, including Professors Jarosław Drzewiecki, Jerzy Sulikowski, Michał Szymanowski, and Bohdan Jarmołowicz. During this time, he also worked as a repetiteur at the National Opera House in Warsaw, collaborating with world-class singers and conductors. He also refined his artistry at the Franz Schubert Institute in Austria, studying with renowned mentors such as Julius Drake, Elly Ameling, and Andreas Schmidt. Now having made Calgary home for the past three+ years, Krystian is thrilled to join the St. Stephen’s community and to share his gifts in the service of worship. He looks forward to growing with the parish and helping the choir flourish while building beauty and unity through music that uplifts the soul. Outside of music, Krystian is in his final year of the JD/MBA program at the University of Calgary. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their young son, often accompanied by the aroma of his wife’s irresistible baking.

Krystian leads the Thursday evening choir rehearsal and joins us on Sunday morning at the 10:30am service. He may be reached at [email protected]
