Who Will be our New Rector?
Almighty God, giver of all good gifts, look upon our Christian family of St. Stephen’s with grace, and guide our hearts and minds as we lead the process of choosing our new Rector, that we may in God’s good time receive a faithful servant who will care for your people and support us in our ministries.
Draw us together so that during this time of transition our faith may be deepened and our witness strengthened;
in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
Charmaine Evans is a Deacon. Charmaine has an education in finances and mental health work. Prior to coming to St. Stephens Charmaine worked at Christ Church in Family ministry. She was raised in South Africa, however she has lived more years in Canada than elsewhere in the world. Charmaine is blessed with a daughter and a son whom she considers her greatest treasures.
Heather Campbell is a licensed professional engineer who in her secular life specializes in energy law and policy for the energy industry. Heather is a rare cradle Anglican having worshipped in Montréal, Burlington, London, Sarnia, Red Deer and now Calgary in her cross-Canada journey. A chorister, a chancel guild member, a former parish council member, and a member of Open Doors I, Heather has always found a way to share her time, talents and treasures with her faith community. Heather is the co-chair of Alberta’s Anti-Racism Advisory Council (AARAC), a board director with Calgary’s performing arts centre Arts Commons, and a member of the Advisory Council for Western Engineering, her alma mater.
Lynda Greuel is an event planner specializing in large-scale corporate event registration in her professional life. Lynda has been an active member of St. Stephen’s for 35 years – including playing in the handbell choir, teaching Excellent Adventure, and organizing “Live at Steve’s” musical performance nights. She is married to John and proud Mama of Jeremy and Peter (her now adult aged boys). Lynda is a curling fan and player, a tea drinker and a milk chocolate consumer!
Cam Bush volunteers as the Incumbent’s Warden on St. Stephen’s Parish Corporation. Cam is married to Pam Forgie-Thomson, and has an adult daughter, Olivia. Cam and Pam have been members of St. Stephen’s since 2009. Cam is also one of the greeters for Sunday services, is an aspiring general handyperson around the church, and sometimes acts as an adjunct member of the Chancel Guild by way of Pam’s volunteering. He is a professional engineer with a senior advisory position in the electric power industry. In addition to the technical elements of his role, Cam is passionate about advancing inclusion and diversity within engineering. In his spare time, Cam dabbles with cars and vintage watches.
Louise Redmond has spent 26 years as a Calgary lawyer. She is an active community volunteer and life long member of St. Stephen’s. Raising twin boys prepared Louise to be up for any challenge! Her contributions to St. Stephen’s include holding several Warden’s portfolios over the years as well as sitting as Co-chair of the Open Doors One building redevelopment committee. Louise was a long-time volunteer at St. Stephen’s Inn from the Cold. She is the past Vice-president of the Board of Directors of the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter and presently sits on the Board of Directors of the Bethany Care Society. Louise’s happy place is time spent with her husband Don kayaking through calm lake waters.
Chad Dudley is a web developer and graphic designer who has been working for St. Stephens for almost 10 years. He grew up in the mountain town of Blairmore in southern Alberta and has diplomas in Computer Science and Marketing from SAIT. Though Chad did not grow up in the church he happens to be married to the daughter of an Anglican priest, Heather (nee Pearson) and they have a young daughter named Josephine. In his free time Chad likes to take photos, tinker with electronics and watch movies. (He met the love of his life for a fleeting moment while volunteering at a film festival and then again later when she applied to work at a Blockbuster Video that he worked at) If you ask Chad if something is possible when it comes to technology his immediate answer is yes and from there he figures out how to do it.
