Ming was born in China and came to Canada in 2000. He attended Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD) to study the art of drawing the Nan Thibert. Later he attended the Doug Swinton studio where he had the opportunity to study with Nany-lynee Hughes, Doug Swinton, Jerry Markham and Chris Jordan.
His work is influenced by those he has worked with but also two American oil painters, Richard Schmind and Clyde Aspevig. His expressive style of his work has evolved between realism and impressionism.
Ming’s creations are inspired by the great western Canadian culture and landscape. His paintings speak the beauty of nature, animal and human that he has lovingly and spiritually represented through his own experience and passion. His work adorns many private homes and companies across North America, and breathes life into any room they reside in.
“I have been making jewelry for over 15 years. I started using crystals and semi precious stones but for the last 8 years I have been making my own glass beads, also known as lampworking. Using glass rods of many colours, I melt these using a torch. I then combine my glass beads with stones, crystals, metal, leather and pearls to make into unique wearable art. I really enjoy playing with colour, texture and form to create jewelry that can spark up others lives!”

Michelle Hoogveld is best known for her distinctive use of mixed media, whose work explores the relational boundaries of mediums in a figurative yet abstract fashion.
“My approach to painting is intuitive, yet intentional, utilizing mediums such as oil paint, spray, images and found objects to emphasize the realistic qualities of my subjects, but also to experiment with different methods of layering and abstraction. Drawing upon inspiration from a variety of sources, my aim is to tell a story, centering on personal interactions, habitual routines, the places we encounter and the connections we form with others.”
